The Woolshed
Woolshed Melbourne, being a heritage-listed site with its vast, double height ceilings was a significant lighting design challenge. Glowing Structures have turned this lighting challenge to their advantage. Working to conceptualise and visualise the various elements, we were able to create intimacy in a spacious open zone, while simultaneously making it feel like one cohesive venue. With an aim to enhance the existing heritage structures within the building, key focus was placed not on statement lighting, but rather on lighting key areas.
Glowing Structures specified a control system that has the ability to adapt the individual sections of the venue to have specific lighting outputs – from bright, functional task lighting for corporate events, to twinkling mood lighting for weddings, and colour changing fittings creating any given hue perfect for branded events. The lighting is on a timer to seamlessly change for day to night. Specific function scenes can be changed at the touch of a button, eliminating difficulties for the staff. The lighting was designed to create different moods in different areas.
