Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) Bachelor of Architecture – Universidad de Los Andes

DESCRIPTION

Natalia’s approach to lighting started early during her architectural studies. Back then, the role of daylight in the harmonic game between light and shadow was a key element inherent to form, space configuration, perception, and the overall occupants’ wellbeing.

Soon after finishing her studies and starting her career in sustainable architecture, Natalia
encountered how the daylight effects could be extended and enhanced by intentionally
using and manipulating artificial lighting.

In 2013, Natalia joined the architectural lighting consultancy field in Colombia and led, documented, and commissioned the integral interior and exterior architectural lighting design schemes and lighting control strategies for over twenty finalised projects of various types, scales and complexity; encompassing corporate, shopping centres, education, hotels, museums, theatres, civic/public and residential.

Natalia’s migration to Australia has added further experience and knowledge within different fields of the lighting industry, from independent lighting consultancy to lighting design within the supply chain. She has participated in the lighting design of over sixty projects Australia wide, varying between retail, commercial and residential.

With a passion for lighting, interiors and architecture, Natalia has collaborated in all-stages of the lighting design process, including design concept and presentation, luminaire selection, project management and coordination, lighting calculations and documentation and commissioning.
