Created by Jean-Louis Domecq whose requirements were to create a simple and robust lamp that was designed in order to adapt to all working stations. They were first produced in France in the early 50’s and in 1953, Jean-Louis created a company dedicated to the marketing of the lamps whose name was formed from his initials : Ji eL Dé (pronounced in French). This classic icon continues to be produced by hand in Lyon, France today.
Each lamp manufactured is unique by its number which is integrated onto the fixtures. The collection offers a wide choice of desk, floor and wall lamps as well as pendants; and all in an extensive range of colours and finishes.

Artist Statement
These Paintings are created from my imagination. I work of a pallet of icons and forms I have developed as a signature over time. I am purposely allowing the imagery and characters to evolve freely without any pre conceived thoughts.
You can find more of Marks work exhibited at Gould Galleries in Sydney and Melbourne and Greenhill Galleries Perth.
Host | Glowing Structures
Glowing Structures is a passionate team of designers, creating bespoke lighting designs and installations for the built environment.
Of the many facets of design the team are involved in, the creative lighting of art, form and sculpture is an area we are extremely passionate about. In February 2022 Glowing Structures launched what we believe is a world first gallery celebrating light. The gallery is a place in which local artists and designers can collaborate to use the tools of light to enhance and embellish both art and everyday pieces alike.
It the space we explore ways in which the characteristics of form, texture and colour are enhanced, maximising the potential of each piece through the use of a bespoke lighting solution.
We welcome all creatives and visitors to experience the gallery and explore how lighting can be used to alter one’s perception of a space or piece. A place where trial and error are part of the journey, having fun and celebrating light and new discoveries!
