“As my husband and I embarked on the most ambitious first build and first home in Bayview, Darwin, in 2009 with a final cost of $2.45M, good fortune delivered us into the hands of architectural specialist lighting designer Adam De Guara.
After questioning my architect’s lighting plan with some 25 downlights in the open plan kitchen/dining/living area as being excessive (owning restaurants and nightclubs, I am sensitive to appropriate lighting), his reply was ‘I’m not a lighting designer.’
From this I was led to Adam de Guara of Glowing Structures, Melbourne.
Not only was Adam’s design and selections accepted outright, along with his CV of impressive completed projects, my biggest concern was his ‘remoteness’ to the Territory.
Adam at the first opportunity began liaising with my architect, local and interstate suppliers and the management of the contract through to completion. Of course this included the obligatory last minute changes by pernickety clients, Adam made the experience like he was on site in Bayview, for 18 months..
I have no hesitation in recommending Adam for ANY project in the Northern Territory and his capability in managing the project and client and builder timelines and expectations is world class.”
